What does a Baby Naming or ‘Christening’ Ceremony include?

There are no legal requirements you have to abide by in a Baby Naming or ‘Christening’ ceremony so you are free to include whatever you want. Here are some of the things you might like to include and when we meet we will go through all the various options and possibilities.

      You might like to include:

  • The poems and readings of your choice which you might like to choose from our collection.
  • A formal ‘naming’ of your baby.
  • The meaning of your baby’s name and why you chose it
  • Parent’s Promises, which are affirmations you make to your child. This is an example of a promise that parents might make to their child; “We promise to love, care and respect you and help you to grow up to be happy and contented. We will always allow you the freedom to develop your own personality and identity and will help you to fulfil all your dreams and ambitions.”
  • Appointing Guide or ‘God’ Parents who are family and close friends you have asked to play a supporting role in your child’s life.
  • Grandparents to say a few words or make a promise to your child.
  • A symbolic action such as blowing bubbles, lighting a candle or signing a certificate (which we can provide).

We also have lots of other ideas to make your Baby Naming or ‘Christening’ Ceremony personal and special.
